Studio

One studio, one person, clear rules.

You work directly with the person who leads and builds the project. This page sets out how I work, what I will not compromise on and what defines a thilabx project.

Stance

Three principles

  • Direction before effect

Every motion and every image has a reason that was written down beforehand. Whatever has no reason is cut — even if it would look good.

  • Checked, not claimed

Completion is defined by measured results and fixed quality criteria — not by the feeling that something looks done.

  • Handover without lock-in

Code, documentation and access belong to you. You can carry on without thilabx at any time.

Way of working

How a project works

  • A cinematic project begins with a direction brief. We also agree up front on the conditions that would make us stop or change direction.
  • The build happens in small steps. Each step can be checked and approved on its own.
  • The same quality standard applies before every approval — whether it is a small change or a full project.
  • Decisions are documented, including the discarded ones. Later you can read why something is the way it is.
  • You can see the current state in the browser at any time, not just at final handover.

Person

Philipp Thiele

I am Philipp Thiele, and I bring direction, design and development together in one person. I lead the concept, creative direction, key decisions and final approval — so you always speak to the person responsible for the work. Image, motion and build follow one creative direction. Instead of relying on promises, I use fixed criteria at every approval step and document why decisions were made. If a project is a better fit for someone else, I say so.

Shall we work together?

Tell me briefly about your project. I'll tell you whether there is a fit and what the first step should be.
